Our History

The leadership courses developed by the LifeSkills Center for Business Leadership (LSCBL) were first designed as the primary management development tool for Famous Dave’s BBQ of America.  ‘Famous’ Dave Anderson himself, along with Brandon Johnson, then Director of Management Training with Famous Dave’s, developed the Hog Heaven University leadership training program in order to cultivate the absolute best from employees and create a culture of commitment, creativity, open communication, results and growth within the corporate offices and restaurants.  Dave and Brandon’s commitment to help employees reach their true potential from a personal and professional development standpoint is a major reason Famous Dave’s went from four restaurants to one of the top restaurant companies in the country.  Famous Dave’s of America continues to deliver elements of this leadership training program within the company, and as a result, continue to enjoy great success and a definite competitive advantage throughout its over 170 of restaurants nationwide.

After establishing the tremendously successful and sustaining management training program within the Famous Dave’s company, Mr. Johnson changed his focus away from the hospitality industry in order to further his personal mission of developing all people willing to discover and realize their true leadership potential to benefit themselves and society.  Mr. Johnson partnered with James Anderson, Dave Anderson’s son and a lifelong student and advocate of personal development, in order to co-found The LifeSkills Center for Business Leadership (LSCBL).  Together, Brandon and James created a company committed to providing world class leadership trainings to businesses, teams and individuals across the world.

Much of LSCBL’s success results from three key philosophies that have emerged from our 20-years of experience and service to thousands of enriched people throughout our history:

1.People grow the most when placed in challenging situations, based on the model of your comfort zone = your success zone;

2. The best and most effective leadership development courses are ones that continually evolve and improve with regard to ever-changing economic, social market, and business environments

3. Knowledge is best retained and used when taught holistically; engaging an individual’s intellect, emotion, body, mind, and spirit.
